Lingerie loves with Fred and Ginger

    Hello ladies and hello 2011!
Over the next few weeks alongside my usual fashion musings I will be bringing you insights into wedding trends for bridal lingerie, make-up, stationary, flowers as well as introducing you to some exciting new designers.
Today I am thrilled to have the talent behind luxury lingerie company FRED & GINGER, Victoria Holt, providing the scoop on bridal lingerie trends for 2011. Victoria has a fantastic fashion predigree having been the Senior Designer for Jenny Packham and since launching FRED & GINGER in 2009 has had phenomenal success - you may have seen their collection featured on Britain's Next Top Model or found their new diffusion range on I mean how could you not want to live this image:

The Royal Wedding looks set to have a huge influence on bridal fashion trends in 2011/2012 and we'll see lingerie ranges oozing glamour, teaming refined cuts with oppulent fabrics in regal colourways. Victoria promises FRED & GINGER will be "creating some gorgeous, flattering loose shapes such as Teddy’s and Babydoll nightdresses in contrast with the beautifully fitted Demi Cup Bra and Beau Knicker sets in sumptuous draped silk satins. Soft hues such as Ivory, Silver and Lavender are juxtaposed with the in-vogue Royal Blue. Flowing luxurious sheer chiffon with a silver threaded weave adds to the glamour of our most enchanting collection to date."

And it's not just wedding dresses that will have the monopoly on sparkling jewels "We’re opting for simply stunning Swarovski crystals which will glisten beautifully under the romantic candle light."

    Current Trends
Until then vintage styles continue to dominate the world of wedding lingerie - timeless Hollywood glamour, soft silks, bows and ruffles rule the bedroom.

    Words of Wisdom
Victoria's advice for Bijou brides-to-be "Do not feel the need to compete with other weddings you have been to, as this will only stress you out. As long as the day is special to you and your future husband, that is all that matters."

FRED & GINGER will be exhibiting at the Designer Wedding Show @Battersea Park, London from 11th-13th February where you lucky ladies will be able to purchase their latest designs for a specially discounted price. See you there!
